Jill has designed this program to take into account that there is no style of eating that is right for everyone. Some people do better on a high fat, low carb or ketogenic type diet, while others do better on a diet rich in vegetables and fiber that takes into account calories to lose weight.

The low carb style of dieting is an extremely healthy twist on the Ketogenic diet, that maximizes nutrition and taste while the body responds by rapidly shedding unwanted weight. The Switch for Healing and Prevention

No matter which style of eating you find to fit your needs, The Switch is an exceptionally effective dietary intervention for dealing with most chronic illness, as well as working toward prevention and maintenance of health. Why The Switch?

  • The Switch is a health, weight loss, and fitness tool that is sustainable and enjoyable because it takes into account biochemical individuality (ie: we are not all the same)
  • The Switch involves eating either a low carb, high fat diet rich in healthy oils and fats, moderate in protein, and low in carbohydrates or a reduced calorie diet rich in vegetables and fiber, moderate in protein, carbs, and healthy fats.

Carefully following the ketogenic diet or low carb plan causes the body to become very efficient at burning fat and to stop storing it! It also moves the body away from relying on glucose as the main form of energy. We call these people fat-burners because they are eating a fat-burning diet.

Carefully following the veggie-burner plan uses the old-fashioned style of weight loss that reduces calories to lose weight. It is a tried and true method that works better than low carb for some people. We call these people veggie-burners because they eat a diet that is rich in lots and lots of vegetables (ie: lower in calories).

Either plan involves eating whole, healthy foods.

 

With the ketogenic diet or low carb diet the result is a literal “switch” in how the body produces and uses energy.

This has many implications in the body for reducing body fat, stabilizing blood sugar, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, and increasing energy!

This is extremely powerful because once you have reached your goals you have a tool that you can use for life! Whether it is for weight maintenance, continued healing benefits, or prevention, it is immensely empowering to have a diet that is this effective and enjoyable.

For Weight loss:

The modified version of The Switch is a way of eating for life so this is more than just a diet, it is a lifestyle change that you WILL want to continue. And the best part is that if you go off the diet while on vacation or over the holidays you can get right back into it when you want to!

The Switch ketogenic diet is also safe and healthy. You will be able to eat a variety of healthy, whole foods that are approved by a Certified Nutrition Specialist.

With the veggie-burner diet the body gets the carbs it needs but only in a fiber-rich medium. This diet is for people that have a higher need for carbs. In other words, The Switch does not need to be turned on but the calorie needs are reduced.
This diet looks at caloric needs and follows them closely. The person should be a real veggie-lover and will eat plenty of vegetables daily, at least 12 servings/day. Fresh veggie smoothies and/or juice will be a staple. Fruit and legumes are encouraged for plenty of fiber and animal protein and healthy fats are included in moderate amounts.

The Switch Program can be done with our online instructional videos AND/OR it can be started by attending one of our talks.

If you purchase the instructional video you will gain access to our Manual for eating either the low carb diet (fat/protein-burner) or the veggie-burner diet.  You will get several detailed meal plans and some recipes. You can follow the meal plans exactly or simply be inspired and create your own plan. You will receive the fat, protein, and carbohydrate content of common healthy foods and learn how to calculate them on your own.
